Invite everyone who receives email from you to visit our church website! This is a great way to introduce others from anywhere in the World to our church and also to the plan of Salvation which they will see when they click on the link at the bottom of the screen. A "signature" is simply a message (a phrase or sentence) that is automatically placed at the bottom of every email message that you send. If you enable a signature in your email, then you can have an active link to our church website automatically displayed in each email message that you send. In Outlook Express, it is displayed in the box that you compose new email in, and you can easily remove it if you want to send a message without the signature. Below is an example of what you'll see in your Outlook Express "New Message" composing box (the text will vary according to what you choose for your signature line):
The recipient of your email will see the same text in their "In Box" when they open their email. Here's how to set up Outlook Express to automatically include a "signature" with an active link that will enable the reader to access our church website directly from your email message:
1. Open Outlook Express. 2. At the top menu, choose TOOLS, then OPTIONS, then click on the SIGNATURES tab. 3. You will see a box like the one below:
4. Click on the NEW button. 5. Click on "Add signatures to all outgoing messages" and be sure the box is checked. Uncheck the box "Don't add Signatures to Replies and Forwards." 6. Click once in the large white box next to Text and then enter a phrase like one of the examples below:
You may use any words that you prefer, just be sure and include the text: www.riverviewbaptist.org . 7. Click OK 8. Send an email to yourself at your email address as a test. Type your email message as normal, at the top of the page, beginning above the signature. This will keep the signature at the bottom of your message. If you want the signature at the top, then type your message below the signature. When you receive your test email, you should see the signature text with the active link to the church website! Note: If you want to temporarily remove the signature from any message that you're sending, simply delete the text from the box where the email message is being composed. The message will not have the signature in it when it is sent.
