Located in the Tri-Cities
area of Southeastern Washington, the
First Baptist
Church of Riverview is a Fundamental Independent Baptist Church with two
main purposes for our existence. First, we want to see souls come to a
saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Second, we want to
help Christians grow in grace and knowledge.
Riverview Baptist has been
blessed since its beginning in a Grange Hall in 1963. In February 1979, we moved
into our new auditorium designed to seat 1,100 people. Our building complex
houses a large Spanish Auditorium, Korean Church, Teen Church, Sunday School, Christian
School, Nurseries, and offices for the Pastors,
the Church and the School.
Our Sunday morning services
are divided into 12 churches, one for every age, so that the Word of God may be
presented to every person at his own level. Then, our Sunday evening service is
what we call our Family Service. Our Mid-week service on Wednesday is also
"FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY." Our church is
large in benefits and services but still retains the "Little Country
Church" atmosphere and friendliness.

Dr.
Dallas Dobson, our late Pastor, was known and respected by Christians all
over the United States. Dr. Dobson founded Riverview Baptist in 1963 and
had a real Pastors’ heart. |
|
Dr. John Paisley is
our Pastor, and has been with us since 1974. He is truly a man used of
God and a faithful servant of the Lord.

Our Co-Pastor,
Dr.
Ken Griffin, has been on staff since 1982, serving initially as the Youth
Pastor and now as Principal of our Christian School and Reformers Unanimous
Director.

We also have a Spanish Pastor for our large
Spanish Ministry, a Korean Pastor for our
Korean Church, a Youth Pastor, a
Visitation Pastor and a Bus Pastor for our Bus
Ministry. Click
here to meet our Pastors.
Our Bus Ministry has several
buses and vans covering the Tri-Cities
with bus service for Sunday School. We now average over 500 riders each Sunday with an all
time high day of 2,806 riders on our buses. Despite the large size of the Bus Ministry,
each child is treated as a very important INDIVIDUAL person, and our bus captains and
workers are waiting to love and help your child.
Many types of media are used in teaching the Bible to our Sunday
School, such as, puppets, object lessons and skits. Trained teachers direct the classes
and the Gospel is preached in every service each Sunday.
The Teen Ministry
at Riverview Baptist Church provides leadership and training, giving today’s
teens what they need to face life squarely. Our College and Career Class meets
at 6:45 p.m. Sunday and has regular social activities.
God places much emphasis on music in His Word, and He has blessed us
richly in our Music Ministry. We have a large choir, and orchestra, many special groups
and soloists. You will certainly be blessed by our "Old Fashion" Christian
Music.
Pastor Paisley conducts a Bible Study for men each Saturday at 8 a.m.
in our multi-purpose room. The men gather together for a delicious breakfast, great
fellowship and a message that pertains to men and their God-given responsibilities.
The Ladies Bible Study is
geared to today’s problems confronting the average woman. Ladies Bible Study
is at 9 a.m. each Tuesday. There is a nursery provided, refreshments are served
and fellowship afterwards.
Radio Station KOLU,
90.1 fm is also located at Riverview Baptist. Keep On Looking Up Radio went on
the air August 31, 1971 with 400 watts. Today KOLU
is one of the finest Christian Stations in America with 4100 watts broadcasting
from Beck Mountain 24 hours a day.
We at Riverview are
interested in the families of the community as we have seen over the years that
no church is stronger than the families that make up the church. God’s first
institution was the family and following His plan, we have organized our church
to meet the needs of the families of the Tri-Cities.
Riverview Baptist has grown
over the years to be known as........
